A Happy Halloween

Halloween was alot of fun this year, now that the boys are almost three, they understand the whole trick or treat thing and were really excited. We wanted to do costumes this year for all of us to dress up as because this was their first real halloween that they'd probably remember. So we decided to do the Wizard of Oz theme. It was alot of fun seeing the boys in their costumes, which they enjoyed being in believe it or not.
Tayson was the Cowardly Lion. Loggan was the Tin-Man.
And Benson was the Scarecrow. Friday night at the church they did a Halloween activity for all the kids, their was 2 wards there, so there were a ton of kids running around to gather candy from each room around the building, and they had games they could play too. This is a photo of the boys with their friend Taylin.
And here is our family photo for this Halloween, I'm Dorothy and Andy is the wizard, we hope that our boys will love Halloween from now on because we all dressed up for it together as a family. Ally (a girl from the ward) dressed up as the Wicked Witch, so we just had to all get a picture together.Saturday night we got dressed up again (well, the boys did anyways...) and walked around the neighborhood with the boys so they could get some candy. We gave them their trick-or-treat bags and tried to explain what to do when they got to the front door, but they didn't really get it.....until they tried it on their first doorstep, "Trick-or-Treat...." and then the person at the door would put a bowl of candy in their face and tell them to take some....They learned really quick after that and wanted to move onto the next house. After each house we would visit, Benson would ask, "Mom, can we go to another house???" It was very cute and the boys filled their bags pretty fast. We then headed home to meet Trevor and Angie to have some homemade soup, while the boys tried to get into their candy until it was bedtime.Tayson begging us to take the wrapper of his new found treat. Too bad he opened like 5 suckers last night and left them laying around the house after a minute or two, and try to open another one. These were from Andy's Priest quorum activity he had at the house on wednesday night with the boys.
All and all, Halloween was alot of fun to get to spend time as a family and see the boys enjoy a fun holiday and get to dress up. We can't wait until next year to get back in the halloween spirit.

One of these days, when the girls agree not to be princesses, I want to be 'American Gothic' and make the kids all be garden vegetables...tehehehe.

Thanks for the blog info! I'm so excited to be able to keep in touch!
